The True You

You say time heals, but truth don’t fade
Some names live louder in quiet ways
You were more than light — you can’t be replaced
You held your ground, no matter what you faced
You read stillness like scripture — page by page
And underlined the stars, made sense of the strange
Waves in your mind, but your heart moved first
A leader who led without the need to rehearse
Philosophy and laughter, questions in your care
You gave answers not just with words, but being there
Books on your shelf, but your eyes held more
You opened doors for others they ain’t seen before
And we still feel the true you, every day
In the love left behind, in every way
You ain’t gone — you just stepped into the blue
But we breathe a little deeper ‘cause we knew the true you
You taught love like a language — fluent and free
Held pain with strength, never sought to be seen
We didn’t get forever, but we got enough
To know heaven’s roster took someone tough
You’re not lost — you’re planted
Your soul still sings, uncommanded
And if presence means power unseen
Then you’re louder now than you’ve ever been
We still hear the true you in the quiet air
In the way we remember how much you care
You ain’t gone — you just stepped into the blue
But we breathe a little deeper ‘cause we knew the true you
Yeah, we knew the true you — not the surface, not the show
But the heart that gave warmth, the mind that made hope grow
You ain’t vanished — you expanded, it is true
You’re just beyond the frame, still shaping the view
Some souls don’t fade, they focus
And when we speak your name, the sky opens
Rest ain’t silence, it’s sacred ground
And in every heartbeat — that’s where you’re found
