Blue Mountain Recordings has reached a milestone: ten listeners. We can now officially say we have tens of listeners.

That may not call for a stadium tour just yet, but it means something to us. Someone has taken a little time out of their day to listen. In a world filled with music, messages, and distractions, that is something we appreciate.

Behind every listener count is a person. We may never know what brought them to a song or what they took away from it. Perhaps they enjoyed a melody. Perhaps a line reminded them of someone. Perhaps the music simply kept them company for a few minutes.

Those are worthwhile reasons to make a song.

At Blue Mountain Recordings, our purpose remains the same whether we have one listener, ten, or a hundred: to create good songs with meaning. Songs that bring a little warmth, invite reflection, tell a story, or give someone a reason to smile.

Meaning does not always have to be serious. Sometimes a playful lyric or an easygoing tune belongs in someone’s day just as much as a song about love, memory, or loss. There is room for all of it.

Creating the music is its own reward, too. An idea takes shape. Words find a melody. Something that once existed only in the imagination becomes something another person can hear. Sharing it completes a connection that began long before anyone pressed play.

We would be happy to welcome more listeners. But reaching a larger audience would not change the reason we started. A song does not have to reach thousands of people to have a place in someone’s life.

So we’ll celebrate our tens of listeners, keep working on the next song, and see where the music takes us.
